Private sessions are geared toward identifying specifically what you want to learn and then we create a plan and material to achieve that goal.
Looking for private “individual (on-on-one) @$25/hr”, “a group of two @$35/hr”, or Photoshop training, we can tailor a session(s) to meet your needs. Any of the private session options can be held in-person, or remotely via Skype or Zoom. To discuss your private session/workshop please contact us directly at info@dibphoto.ca or via our contact form. Please note that each private session requires booking a minimum of two hours and also involves homework prior to the session.
How the private sessions work:
- Free initial 1/2hr zoom/skype or phone call to identify what you want to learn
- Agree on a time and place for the session
- Send a payment via an e-transfer, for 2hr min session fee, to payment@dibphoto.ca
- You’ll receive homework material via email to complete before the session
- Meet for the 2hr one-on-one session (following current provincial Covid-19 guidelines)
- Free follow up 1/2hr zoom/skype or phone call to answer any questions you may have
- Enrolment to participate in the Monthly challenge for a 12 month period

Workshop Description:
This workshop is the first part of a two part series for the Photographer who wants to learn how to import and organize their digital images using Adobe© Lightroom Classic. If you are new to Lightroom Classic or still have difficulty understanding how to use the software this course is for you.
This hands on interactive in person workshop will cover how to import and organize your photos using Lightroom Classic; from setting it up to, keeping it up to date, importing, the catalog, key wording, sorting & filtering, exporting, import presets, collections, as well as backing up your images and the catalog. Sample images are provided for students to follow along.
The workshop will be provided in person at Forest Heights Community School for students with a laptop computer as well as simultaneously online via Zoom for those students who use a desktop computer.
Upon completion of this workshop you will understand and be able to use the Lightroom Classic application to import, organize and export to share your digital images.
Each student is required to have their own computer capable of running and have installed version 12 of Adobe Lightroom Classic. Although the instructor uses a computer with the Windows 10 operating system, students with Apple computers will be able to follow along equally as well.
This workshop assumes that the participant already has basic computer skills and understands the basics of computer file management which is a perquisite knowledge required for the class.

Course Description:
This Digital Photography 101 course is the first of a two-part series consisting of six in-person sessions at Forest Heights Community School plus three on location field trips focused on learning how to make better images. Intended for the beginner, this course sets the foundation on topics such as; exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, metering modes, including camera settings, and is for anyone not happy with their photos. This course includes; instruction, hands on learning, weekly assignments and on location field trips. Student images are reviewed during the in-person sessions providing positive feedback to help everyone improve their photography.
The camera requirement for this course is the use of a DSLR, Mirrorless, or Bridge camera with manual control. No post-processing software is required for this course.
During the program we will follow the provincial Covid-19 masking and social distancing regulations that are currently in effect.
